APPRENTICE CERTIFICATION
Bottom Line Civics Series - Complete two (2) of the five (5) Bottom Line Civics Classes
Foundations in Self Governance
This is our original Foundational Civics course. Students will learn basic Government Structures, understand concepts of Power, System, and Control, and identify jurisdictional boundaries and controls.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
History of Self Governance
This class will examine how various concepts and practices of individual, relational, and societal self-governance have developed over time, its successes and limitations, and its ongoing relevance in modern societies.

Systematic Politics: The Evolution of Cooperation
This course explores the evolution of systematic politics in the U.S., from pre-Civil War abolitionism and post-war social science convergence to the early 20th-century Progressive movement’s alignment with social science. It examines how the Progressive agenda, presented as non-partisan and scientific, drove significant structural changes in the U.S. government.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
Partisan Politics: The Evolution of Polarization
This course explores the evolution of the American political system, beginning with George Washington’s Farewell Address and the formation of the party system. It covers key developments such as the emergence of the Democratic and Republican parties, the impact of the Civil War on politics, the rise of the Progressive Party, and the transformation of partisan politics from the 1950s to the present.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
Poli-Ticks: Living a Politically Disease-Free Life
This course introduces the foundational concepts of politics, distinguishing between personal and impersonal politics, as well as partisan and systematic politics. It also covers the basics of government structures and explains how government decisions impact individuals on a personal level.
Tuition: $50 per student
Time: 4 hours. Can be single training or broken into 2 sessions.

Structure of Government - Complete four (4) of the eight (8) Structure of Government Classes
School Government
This is a two hour overview of school government structures, as defined by your state constitution and laws, that affect your educational stakeholder responsibilities.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
City Government
This is a two hour overview of city government structures, as defined by your state constitution and laws, that affect your local stakeholder responsibilities.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
County Government
This is a two hour overview of county government structures, as defined by your state constitution and laws, that affect your political participation and influence at every level of government.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
Regional Government
This is a two hour overview of regional government structures, as defined by your state constitution and laws, that affect your regional stakeholder responsibilities.
Tuition: $25 per person. Time: 2 hours
State Government
The state constitution study program exposes the student to 1) the state’s organization of control between elected, appointed, and employed governing; 2) distribution of power between the departments of state government; and 3) the legal subdivisions within the state.
Time: 2+ hours per class (minimum 10 hours for the entire course)
Cost: $25 per person per class
A state-specific workbook is available for an additional fee.
- C100 – Introduction to Your State Constitution: Learn your State’s connection to the U.S. Constitution, the creation of your state’s constitution, and its Preamble and Article 1.
- C200 – Legislative Department: Learn the structure and operation of your State’s Legislative Branch.
- C300 – Executive Department: Learn the structure and operation of your State’s Executive Branch.
- C400 – Judicial Department: Learn the structure and operation of your State’s Judicial Branch.
- C500 – Local Government: You will learn the structure and operation of your State’s Regional, County, City/Town, and School governments

Block 1 - Introduction to Systematic Politics
Prerequisites: Completion of CSG Apprentice Certification
This course aims to help students understand the self as the foundation for influencing others, view politics as a routine and non-negative human activity, and see government as a system for managing relationships. It also covers the evolution of government boundaries, the shift from Dual to Cooperative federalism in the U.S., and applies these concepts to real-world situations through practical exercises.
Block 2 - Competitive Systematic Politics
Prerequisites: Intro to Systematic Politics & Training Exercise Completion
This course aims to explore how abolition, social science, and Progressivism before and after the Civil War contributed to the development of Systematic Politics and the Marble Cake Revolution in U.S. governance. It also examines the mid-20th century creation of Systematic Politics, its infrastructure, and the shift from Layer Cake to Cooperative federalism, with practical applications through training exercises.
Block 3 - Advanced Competitive Systematic Politics
Prerequisites: Competitive Systematic Politics & Training Exercise Completion
This course examines the influence of abolition, social science, and Progressivism on the development of Systematic Politics and the Marble Cake Revolution in U.S. governance. It also delves into the mid-20th century creation of Systematic Politics, the shift to Cooperative federalism, and applies these concepts through practical exercises.
